and it will reveal a fun little message. The Spring is nature's way of saying "Let's party!" is from the new My Thoughts Exactly Easter Greetings set. Wow two previews in one post! Be sure to keep an eye out on the SVG Attic Facebook for the new release sometime today :)

Welcome Spring Blog Hop!

Hey everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic week so far. Today is the start of my SPRING BREAK!!!! It just so happens to fall on the day of the Welcome Spring blog hop with the SVG Attic design team and any customers that wanted to join us. How awesome is that?!? I am so happy you stopped by today and I hope you get just a little inspiration from the hop. If you just happened upon this post you defiantly want to start from the beginning to catch all awesome projects. If you have arrived from Nicole's blog then you are on the right track! For the hop today everyone is featuring the Welcome Spring collection. Just in case you get lost along the way here is the full lineup:
Teachdanz.blogspot.com <- You should have come from here.
***** Craftyrktsci.blogspot.com ***** You are here!
Our2angelsinheaven.blogspot.com <- This is your next stop.

As I said everyone is using the Welcome Spring collection but you never know what everyone will combine it with! For my project I also used the Tent Cards, Birds and the Bees, and Easter Elements. Are you ready to see it? :)

Well what do you think? I think it came out pretty cute. I used the flower card from the Welcome Spring set to create the window in the tent card and all the flower accents. The peep friends are all from Easter Elements and the clouds in the background are from Birds and the Bees. I flocked the peeps for added texture and of course added a little trendy twin :) Do you see that cute little sentiment, "Hangin' with my Peeps"? It's from the new My Thoughts Exactly Easter Greetings stamp set! I thought it was the perfect sentiment for this card.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! Now head on over to Lisa's blog.

Springtime!

Ok so maybe Spring isn't here quite yet, I sure wish it were! As I type we are under a winter storm warning and will be for the next few days, boo. Well today is my design team day for SVG Attic and I'm bringing a little bit of Spring to my house with my project. I used the Fun Favors and Easter Elements sets to create this cute little candy holder.
Isn't it cute? I am loving the fun Spring colors. All the designer paper is from Echo Park's Springtime collection, in fact that little Springtime sentiment is the label from one of the sheets of paper :) It just happened to the perfect size for my candy dispenser. The twine is all from the Twinery and the rest of the paper is from Michael's.
So are you wondering what's inside? Well it is my favorite Easter candy...
Cadbury Mini Eggs!!!!! I always get so excited when they first appear at the store. My excitement has gotten a little smaller now that they make them for just about every holiday. I do refuse to buy them until Easter so it is at least still a special treat for me :) As I'm sure you can figure out the candy dispenser is from the Fun Favors set, the tulips and the grass are from the Easter Elements set.

I hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend so far! Be sure to stop by SVG Attic to pick up the files I've used today and while you are there be sure to check out all the new sets for St. Patrick's Day and Easter, there just may be a super cute Peeps box that I have BIG plans for!

Muted colors...

Good morning and happy Thursday to you all! Today is another Design Team Thursday with My Thoughts Exactly. Today I have a project that I started making for another design team and then it evolved into something completely different than I was thinking. I added a few (ok maybe a lot) of MTE stamps and I just couldn't wait to show you, so I'm sharing it today. I used the Many Thanks set from MTE along with SVGs from several different places, I'll to list them as you look through the pictures. Now I must warn you the colors are much more muted than what I usually work with but I kind of like how it turned out.

The rainbow, clouds, and hearts are all from SVG Attic. The card design itself is from the wonderful Lenae of Sugar Gem. If you have seen a card like this before here or over at Sugar Gem then you know the image in the window rotates. Can you guess the colorless rainbow turns into?
Ok so that was a little obvious maybe. Neither of these pictures show it very well but the clouds and all the little grey hearts are glimmer misted. As the colors were all muted I kept the colored rainbow muted as well by using my watercolor pencils and blender pens to soften the colors. Are you wondering where the MTE stamps are yet?!? Well here they are!
OMG I just realized the scallop circle that rotates is the wrong way in this picture! If you had rotated the colorless rainbow to reveal the colored one the hearts should all be upright >.< Well anyway, all those cute little hearts as well as the 'thank you for being my rainbow on a cloudy day' sentiment all come from the Many Thanks set. I am sure you are all getting sick of seeing this sentiment but it is one of my favorites. I have been having a terrible week so far, nothing at work had been going as it should, and no matter what when I get home Mr. Crafty Rocket Science can always put a smile on my face. Here's a close up of the sentiment and the 'balloons.'
Those cute little clovers are also from SVG Attic. In fact all the little hearts on the front are from the cutouts in the clovers, I just couldn't throw them away. The twine is all from the Twinery.

Well that is all for me today. Don't forget to stop by Benedicte's blog and Kendra's blog to see what they have created today. Also be sure to stop back on March 1 for the March stamp release!

Happy crafting!

Conversation Hearts...

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. It has been a nice relaxing one for us. I did a little, well actually a lot, of crafting. Today is my design team day at SVG Attic and I am in love with this project. It started out as a much smaller project and before I knew it there were 41 different elements cut out and assembled! So I won't make you wait any longer (be prepared for picture overload):

Well?!? This turned out better than I expected. The basket and little heart boxes inside are from the Heart Shaped Box collection, the roses are from the Be Mine collection, and the butterflies are from the new Valentine Elements collection. Each of the strip weaved in the basket and the handle are stamped with background stamps. The light pink strips and the handle are stamped with a SP and Company and the dark pink strips use a stamp from October Afternoon. Here's a look at a few of the heart boxes, any guesses of how many there are?
Here's a little close up of the roses and butterflies, there are 3 of each on both sides of the handle. Both are spritzed with glimmer mist (my new found obsession...).
There are 4 colors of heart boxes inside and each of them is stamped with conversation hearts from My Thoughts Exactly's Candy Heart Stamps. In case you are wondering each of the hearts has a different message on it, none of them are the same! All the little boxes are tied shut with Valentine Trendy Twine.
Here are all the kraft heart boxes.
All the pink ones.
All the read ones.
And all the white ones.
Ok did you keep count? Well there are 28 in all!
Have you asked what's in all those little heart boxes yet? I promise they are not empty, any idea how little they are? Well here is the answer to all of those questions...
Each heart box has a little dove chocolate heart in it. As you can figure out everything is pretty tiny for this project. The basket is approximately 6" x 6", the roses are about an inch in diameter, the butterflies are also about an inch, and the candy heart boxes are just under 2" big. I could never have imagined cutting anything this small before my Zing arrived!

Well I hope you enjoyed today's project. Be sure to stop by SVG Attic and pick up all your favorite files. Oh yea there just might be a 50% sale going on right now through Valentine's Day!

Happy crafting!

Happy Together!

Good morning everyone! I think I was in denial that yesterday was Sunday, I completely forgot to post my SVG Attic design team project. Never fear I'll get it posted this morning :) Today I have a cute little center piece using the Be Mine and Stop N Shop collections for you.

I think it came out really cute! The designer paper and embellishments are all from October Afternoon and the twine is from the Twinery. The brown paper bag is from the Stop N Shop collection and the roses are from the Be Mine set. I was looking for a different look for the roses so I used double sided designer paper and distressed all the edges before inking them. You can see a little wire peeking out of the middle rose, that's how they are standing in the bag. Each rose has a piece of wire poked through the bottom for the stems.

A quick reminder before I go, there is a contest going on at the SVG Attic blog. Just make anything that has metallic or glittery elements and link it up.

I think they came out pretty cute, I'm having a hard time letting go of them but it's for a good cause :) Each set has a multi-language card in it with the word love in Gaelic (I'm part Irish), French, and English. All the Twine is the yummy Valentine Cherry Cupcake from Trendy Twine. All the stamps used are from the fabulous Sweet Thoughts set from My Thoughts Exactly. The SVG files are of course from SVG Attic (Give A HootSweetheart Captions, and Valentine Cupcake Wrappers) with the exception of the multi-language card, I just used random fonts I had for that.

I hope you are inspired by my projects and if you'd like pop by the sales Facebook page to see the rest of the designers' projects.

I mustache you...

Happy Sunday everyone! It is a wonderful Sunday up here in BISON country as our beloved North Dakota State University Bison brought home the National Championship yesterday!!! So enough about our football team on to what you came here for :) Today is Design Team Sunday for me over at SVG Attic and I have a fun little 6-fold card featuring the new Be Mine and Cozy Christmas Captions sets...I know what you're thinking Christmas, isn't it past Christmas? I'll explain after I show you some pictures.

The front obviously features the pretty love stamp from the Be Mine collection. The designer paper is from Echo Park's Holly Jolly Christmas and Happy Days collections, the glitter paper is something I picked up at Hobby Lobby one day, and the Twine is of course from Trendy Twine. Now this is a 6-fold card so watch as it opens!
The first flaps you open reveal this little sentiment. Can you tell where the letters are from?  Cozy Christmas Captions ! The i came straight from the Merry & Bright caption and the u is actually the h in bright flipped upside down with part of the stem cut out. Pretty clever huh? I reads "I mustache U" and then inside the next flap is the question.
"Bee mine?" The mustache paper is from the Echo Park Times & Seasons collection and the stamps are My Thoughts Exactly Birds and the Bees. Well what do you think? I thought the fold was really fun and I like the playfulness of the sentiments. I hope you at least got a smile out this project :) If you'd like to pick up any of the files used here or anything else be sure to stop by the SVG Attic Store and pick them up at 50% off today! There is also an open DT call for SVG Attic so be sure to apply, all the details can be found here. One last thing, there is a glitter/metallic contest also going on over at the SVG Attic blog so be sure to get your projects in for a chance to win one of three GC.

As always happy crafting,

My Thoughts Exactly Design Team Thursday and a Winner!

Hello and happy Thursday to everyone! Are you all ready for the Holiday festivities? I am so not ready! I looked at my calendar yesterday and realized it was still on November...as were all the calendars in our home! I think I am in a subconscious denial it's almost Christmas. Well if you are a procrastinator, like me, and need to make holiday cards yet I a have a few last minute card ideas for you today. It is of course Design Team Thursday at My Thoughts Exactly so each card will feature the fabulous Holiday stamp sets :) To be exact each card will be showing sentiments from the Holly Jolly Phrases set.

First up I have the Christmas cards we handed out to our family at the annual family gathering, yes handed out because I didn't get them mailed in time.

I didn't want to make a million and one folded cards, so they are just flat cards. The message is hidden by the little penguin that is a magnet! Aren't the sentiments fun? I just love "May your stocking be filled with smiles and love!" See the little stocking up? Yup that's on the Holly Jolly Phrases set too. I also made a second version of the card with a different penguin.

Now I have a card that was just for fun...well I really wanted to use a certain stamp so the card was designed around that. The idea came to me while I was wrapping our Christmas gifts and the dog would not leave me alone! She was walking all over the wrapping paper, throwing toys on the paper, chasing the ribbon and bows...it just didn't stop and by the time I got her to leave me alone the paper was ruined. So the Naughty Darja card was created.
The idea on the front being the mess left over from a very naughty little puppy playing in the craft room. On a side note the paw prints are the size of Darja's paws so it's very fitting, it's also how she usually 'signs' all our cards. Now back to your regularly schedule program...
Isn't that cute? As soon as I saw the "Dear Santa" phrases I knew I had to use them. I always remember as a little kid trying to write my letter to Santa but never knowing exactly what to say. Well Darja had the same problem. "I was very very good"...well maybe not. "Please define good?" No that doesn't sound right. "I can explain..." I imagine her explanation would be, "I was just trying to help mama finish her card." Of course it would be said with a cocked head and those puppy dog eyes so you can't yell at her.

So I have one last thing for you today. I never heard back from the winner of the Stamp Release so I have a new one! The new winner is...#9 - StampGram! Please send me an email (CraftyRktSci [at] gmail [dot] com) to claim your prize StampGram.

Be sure to stop by the My Thoughts Exactly store to pick up all your favorite stamps and don't forget to stop by Jen's blog too to see her Design Team Thursday project.

Happy crafting and happy holidays!

Merry Tree

Hello everyone! If you are looking for the Gifts From the Heart Blog Hop please scroll down or go here. Today is another SVG Attic Sunday for me. I have just a simple little project that could be a center piece for a holiday dinner or just a decoration for the holiday season.
I used the tree from O Christmas Tree and decorated it with my favorite Trendy Twine! Here are a few close ups of the details. The topper is a stamp I picked up at Michael's and hand cut around. It's stuck in the top with a red toothpick.
And a close up of the tiny bows all over the tree. Yes I tied them all and it took forever! I cut the tree out at a size of 8" so the tree isn't very big.

I know this is a simple project but time has been limited this week. Don't forget to hop along with the Gifts From the Heart Blog Hop for a chance to win a $50 gift card. Also be sure to stop by the SVG Attic store to pick up some files at a speacial discout through out the hop.

Happy crafting!
