My Thoughts Exactly August STAMP RELEASE!

Happy Monday everyone! Today is the day I'm sure you have been waiting for since July 1st when the first My Thoughts Exactly stamps came out, another stamp release day! First of all if you have not checked out My Thoughts Exactly stamps yet be sure to stop by the stamp store and take a look. July was the very first release with the Birds and the Bees and Under the Sea sets. This month the releases are Sweet Thoughts and Grillin' & Chillin' perfect for all the summer fun we've all been having! Like the first stamps released these will also me mix and match sentiments, and trust me the possibilities for these new sets are endless. An added bonus this time around though are some free cutting files designed by several of the My Thoughts Exactly Design Team members! How cool is that?!? With the Sweet Thoughts set you will recieve the Sweet Shoppe Bag SVG file from Sugar Gem and with the Grillin' & Chillin' set you will recieve the Burger-vite and 2 evelopes from Bee's Hive O'Drama. You will not be want to miss these files, they are really awesome! So without further ado here are my projects.

This is a little card I made using the Sweet Thoughts set.
The background paper is from Stampin' Up as is the background stamp that is stamped in white chalk ink on the black cardstock. I used the sew easy tool to do the stitching at the top of the black cardstock and the Lettering Delights Kyoto Kuties set for the cute little Kyoto Kutie. The stitching was done with Trendy Twine, which I also used to make the sash on the Kyoto Kutie, although it's a little hidden by her delicious cupcake. That little cupcake she's holding...yup it's a stamp from the Sweet Thoughts stamp set! In my last post I mentioned scanning stamps into Make The Cut! to create shaped backgrounds to stamp on, well I tried it with the sentiment stamps finally! It came out ok, I stamped it a little crooked. Just means I'll have to practice more, shucks! Here is a close up of the sentiment and the cupcake.

My second project was created with the Grinllin' & Chillin' set.

It's a gift box tied up with some Trendy Twine! Here's a close up of the tag which of course has the sentiment stamps on it.
The idea here being a host(ess) gift for a BBQ get together. The utensils came from the Cut Its super bundle at Lettering Delights.
I created the box from a few different Lettering Delights files. The box base and lid came from the Intricate Gift Box Collection. Instead of using one of the pre-designed lids as is, I used it as a starting point to create my own. I blacked out one of the lids and added in the grill from the Cut Its super bundle.
Oh look at that, the box is filled with yummy grilling spices!
The band around the bottles also has more sentiment stamps on it. The grill...yup it's a stamp too! This picture doesn't do it justice, you can even see the grate lines on the grill in person! Ok one final look at everything, can you tell I really liked this project?

I hope you have enjoyed my projects today and be sure to stop by the My Thoughts Exactly blog to check out all the Design Team projects. They are all amazing!

Happy crafting!
