My Thoughts Exactly November Release!

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween. It was a nice quiet night at home for us. I crafted and tried not to think about my new Zing making it's way here, too much. In case you missed my post on Facebook, my boyfriend bought me a brand new KNK Zing for my birthday! I so can not wait for it to get here!!!! Today is a very special day...it's release day for My Thoughts Exactly stamps! Are you ready for the new set? Did you figure out the theme from last Thursday's sneak peak? Well here they are

It's thank you phrases! This set is called Many Thanks and like the others there are so many options it is a must have. There are multiple fonts, sizes, and languages! Are you ready to see what I made? Well here it is

Remember when I told you my mom and aunt went shopping at the October Afternoon warehouse sale for me? Well the designer paper and the rubber charms are all from my loot! Mom and grandma came up for my birthday this weekend and brought me all my new goodies. I'll have to get some pictures of it all, you would not believe how much there is. I used the new Rocket Age line here. This card is made using a cool new folding technique called the side spring card I learned from Split Coast Stampers, it can be found here. The square on the right side of my card 'springs' open to reveal the inside of the card.
Once it's fully open you can see the sentiment!
Aren't the new stamps just to die for?!? I love the fonts. Alyssa and Brian even brought back my favorite font, the one form the Birds and the Bees set <3 See that little epoxy circle embellishment? I made it with my new EC Shape Studio tool! The paper I used to make is the same paper I used on the front of the card and of course the nerd that I am just had to use the escape velocity equation printed on the paper :) I am so in love with this paper line, it's perfect for manly cards and projects. Or good for the nerds like me :)

Hope you all have a great rest of your day. Be sure to stop by My Thoughts Exactly to check out all the design team inspiration and to pick up you Many Thanks stamp set!
Happy crafting,

A heartfelt thank you :)

Hello and happy Thursday everyone! So I had planned a really fun little card set for you today with sneak peaks of the soon to be released My Thoughts Exactly stamps...well life has been a little crazy as of late. I spent a few days last week at a conference presenting my research. Normally that wouldn't be an issue, I'd just miss a few days of class nothing too terrible. Well now that I am an instructor, serve on the graduate and research committee for the college of engineering and architecture, and am a student doing research...it felt like I was gone for a whole week. I have trying to catch up and it just isn't working. In fact I am putting off lecture notes for tomorrow to write this post, sigh. Ok so enough about my boring explanation about why I only have one VERY simple card for you today and on to what you came here to see. I am still giving you a sneak peak of the November release over at My Thoughts Exactly, can you guess the theme? It's not hard I promise :)
Can you tell what the knot is suppose to be? I hope you can cause I really like it and was super excited when I figured out how to tie it. In fact I learned on an old piece of rope we had lying around from making the dog's tie out and when I finally got it tied right I ran into our bedroom to show the boyfriend...he said cool and went back to his computer game. I hope you are more excited about it than he was :) Here is a close up of the front sentiment.
The phrase is two stamps; 'a heartfelt' and 'Thank You'. The heart is one stamp that I stamped three times on the card and the little brackets are also in the set, two of them too! I think this is becoming my favorite set, the phrase are just perfect. There are a few other things that I love about this set but I'll let you be surprised when it is released on TUESDAY!!! Ok here is the inside and the last sneak peak for today.
Two stamps again, 'Thank You' and 'for being you.' I intended this card to be for my mom cause she's the best but I think she'll see it here before it ever gets mailed to her. Maybe I'll just make her a new one :) My mom and aunt both live near the October Afternoon warehouse, which I do not, so when they had their warehouse sale last week my mom went and shopped for me!!! Not only did she go one day, or two days, but I'm pretty sure she was there everyday of the sale! I can not wait to show you all my new loot!! Oh and did I mention that my wonderful aunt worked the sale and got each of us about a foot and half tall stack of free rub-ons! I am set for life! My mom and grandma are coming up this weekend to see me for my birthday on Saturday. So I'll have some pictures of the loot to show you soon. I may have a few pictures of how I am going to spend my birthday too...it may not be what you would expect :) One last look at today's card before I hit the books again.
If you'd like to learn how to tie the Celtic Heart knot on the front of the card it can be found here on my Pin Interest board. Head over to the wonderful Jennifer's blog too and see what she had in store for you today (I've seen it and it's really cute!). Don't forget to stop back on Tuesday for the November stamp release!

Until then happy crafting,

Gobble Gobble, Give Thanks

Happy Sunday everyone! It's another SVG Attic design team day for me. Today I have a fun little Thanksgiving treat box. I used the Holly's Holiday Gift Box and Thankful Friends sets for my project.
Isn't he cute?!? Of course there is a little Orange Truffle Trendy Twine for Tom's scarf.
And on his back side there is a little message tied to his feathers with more Trendy Twine. The give thanks stamp is from Stampin' Up.
Isn't the sentiment cool looking? I used Stampin' Up Pearl Ex brushed over Versamark ink. This is the first time I've used Pearl Ex and I love it! Too bad they don't make it anymore :( I got it at a stamp sale not too long ago. So where is this box I speak of?
In the middle of Tom!
I used a little more Trendy Twine as a 'handle' to lift the lid. I hope you have enjoyed today's project! Be sure to stop by SVG Attic today and grab your favorite files. Today is the last day to save 30% on your entire order with the code SANTA. Happy crafting everyone!

MTC/SVG Monday!

Happy Monday everyone! I know it has been a little quiet over here since all the blog hops the last few weekends. It's going to stay quiet a bit longer as I am headed out to a conference today, it's been a lot of work getting ready to go and when I get back I'm sure there be even more work to get caught up again. Enough about that today is another MTC/SVG Monday over at the Scrapoholic. This week's theme is Halloween Monsters. Here is my card for today:
I know it's kinda of a cute monster! I really like the the purple and green combination for Halloween too. I cut the whole file out in the various colors but cut 2 of the base so that I could create a card. I know I could have welded them together to create the card base in MTC but I just cut 2 and then glued one to the other after scoring. Here is the inside:
I used the My Thoughts Exactly Ghostly Greetings stamps for the sentiment. The sentiment is stamped in Stampin Up! Pumpkin Pie ink (my favorite) on an oval I cut out and embossed using my Nestabilities then 'tied' it to a black brad (it's kind of hard to see in the picture but it's there) using black twine from the Twinery.

I hope you enjoyed today's project, be sure to stop by the Scrapoholic to get your monster files. Happy crafting!

Fang-Tastic Blog Hop Day 3!

For SVG Attic Designt Team Sunday scroll down or click here.

I'm back! :) It's day 3 of the Fang-Tastic blog hop and today I am featuring my giveaway sponsor The Digi Bistro! I am also using the test tube holder file Tamara aka Happy Life Crafty Life created! You can get your test tube holder file here. Ok so here is my take on the test tube holder using the Digi Bistro's Halloween Town set.
Isn't it cute?!? So I have really been digging the pink and black color combinations I've been seeing for Halloween so that's what I went for. A spooky-cute girly gift :) (Yea I know that makes no sense at all but that's my story and I'm sticking with it!)
Isn't that skull just awesome? I decided that not only was this going to be pink and black it was also going to be very glittery! I used Martha Stewart pink and black glitter for the bow and eye on the skull.
The little test tubes have mini tags tied with pink Trendy Twine and black Twinery twine. They are stamped with My Thoughts Exactly stamps. Come as you aren't comes from the Fright Night Phrases set.
Bite me comes from the Ghostly Greetings set.
For the cauldron I used glow in the dark Martha Stewart glitter! How cool is that?!? The little start is from the skull's eye socket, I thought it made the cauldron a little more girly. OOO it's a spooky glam rock gift! Ok here's one last look of everything.

Tomorrow is the last day of the hop and the last day to enter to win a shopping spree at The Digi Bistro. There are 3 chances to win on Day 1's post, 1 chance on Day 2's post, and today there is one more chance to win. Leave me a comment telling me you favorite fall recipe (main dish, desert, side dish, etc.). There will be one more and finally chance to win tomorrow, I'll draw a winner on Tuesday morning! Here is the line-up one more time, be sure to hop and around and see who all has projects for day 3:

Happy Fang-Tastic crafting,

SVG Attic Design Team Sunday

If you are looking for the Fang-Tastic Blog Hop the posts are: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 will be up shortly :)

Happy Sunday! It's a chilly rainy day up here in the Midwest. I apologize for such a late post today, our internet has been very spotty this weekend. So I am going to take advantage of it while I can and get a few things posted. Today I have a fun little Halloween decoration, I found the idea on Pintesrest. If you are on Pinterest you can follow my boards if you wish here. Here is the inspiration picture:
Isn't that a cool idea? Well I thought it would be really cool to do a Halloween themed one. So I used the BOO-tiful Borders and Pumpkin Patch collections for my project today. Here it is (I warn you the pictures aren't great, it was hard to take pictures of it lit up):
I thought our black stemmed wine glasses were very fitting for my Halloween lamp. I welded the blood border from the BOO-tiful Borders collection to a rectangle that was as long as my wine glass is around at the top. I then used the conical wrap feature in Make-the-Cut to make the lamp shade. I then joined in each of the faces in the Pumpkin Patch collection to the shade so that they would be cut out of the shade. I used vellum behind each face to give it an eerie glow. If you make a wine glass lamp of your own, I would make the shade a little longer than I did so the votive or tea light candle inside is completely hidden.

See I told you the pictures weren't great, I really need a tri-pod...oh well.

I hope you were inspired by today's project! I'll be back in just a few with day 3 of the Fang-Tastic blog hop.

Ok so today I am using more Trendy Twine! Ready for today's project?
It's a witches potion charger! I thought the googly eyes added just the right touch of creepy :) I got the purple charger at Michael's for $2 and blinged it out using a rhinestone template from The Scrapoholic. The bottles were made using a technique I found on a blog somewhere, I can't remember where it was so long ago. All you have to do is spray 1/4 cup of liquid pledge (the liquid not the aerosol can), yes the stuff you use to clean with. Swirl it around to coat the entire inside surface of the bottle, pour your choice of glitter into the bottle (I used Martha Stewart glitter), cover the top of the bottle with a paper towel, and shake to your hearts content! If the first does of glitter isn't enough you can always add more and keep shaking. These were so easy to make and so fun! I have seen a wine bottles done like this, they take half of the large Martha Stewart glitter bottles to be coated. Here I just used four $0.99 bottles I found at Michael's. Here are close ups of each of the bottles. They all have print and cut tags from the Best Witches Party set in Jin's Fall Picks Bundle at Lettering Delights.
Ready for the Trendy Twine goodness? This is probably my favorite bottle :) I used the Orange Licorice twine for this one:

So are you ready to make your own potion bottles now? I have them sitting on the bar in our kitchen and they look really cool! We are having a small get together tonight so I may have some more pictures of the Halloween decor that I've been making tomorrow along with another project featuring another fang-tastic sponsor!

Don't forget to leave your love for a chance to win a shopping spree at The Digi Bistro. There are 3 ways to enter on the day one post here. Today you have one more chance to enter:
Leave me a comment telling me your favorite Halloween/Fall drink, it can be adult in nature, something to keep you warm on these chilly fall nights, or just something you really enjoy any time of the year.
